Fashion trends influence more than just the retail sector. The colors we see on the catwalk tend to show up in all areas of design — and our lives. Trending colors pop up in everything from advertising photography to living room walls.

Each season, the Pantone Color Institute releases a color trend report to highlight the top colors fashion designers showing at New York Fashion Week will be featuring in their collections for the upcoming season. This trend guide acts as a quick reference for the season’s most important color trends. According to Pantone, color combinations for Autumn/Winter 2019–2020 “suggest a thirst for liberation and a desire to realize our own individualized unique identities.” These colors reflect an emergence of bold confidence and some clever tweaks.
